Ryan Schulke co-founded Fluent with long-time friend Matt Conlin. Running corporate vision and strategy through creativity and collaboration, Ryan ensures Fluent’s digital advertising solutions are both scalable and sustainable, while expanding its leadership in the digital marketing & media space.
Ryan is a Long Island, NY native, hailing from Huntington, NY. He attended St. John’s where he met Matt Conlin and they embarked on their first enterprise: selling mixtapes on campus. Both Ryan and Matt describe themselves as huge hip hop fans and brag that Fluent’s first publishing partners were leading mixtape websites. Before Fluent, Ryan and Matt worked at Innovation Ads and Clash Media, where they conceptualized the business and met some of their founding partners. In addition to Fluent, Ryan and his wife are passionate about giving back and have formed a family foundation committed to bettering the lives of children in challenging situations; a topic that is close to their hearts as they raise their two children.
Matt Conlin co-founded Fluent with Ryan Schulke, with a vision to change the digital world through technology and advertising solutions. Responsible for sales, marketing, and partner development strategies, Matt led Fluent to become the highest volume customer acquisition technology platform and ad network in the nation.
Matt was born in Ann Arbor, MI and moved to New York to attend St. John’s. As serendipity would have it, he met Ryan Schulke and they embarked on their first enterprise: selling mixtapes on campus. Both Matt and Ryan describe themselves as huge hip hop fans and brag that Fluent’s first publishing partners were leading mixtape websites. Before Fluent, Matt and Ryan worked at Innovation Ads and Clash Media, where they conceptualized the business and met some of their founding partners. Matt brags about his stellar attendance at Broadway shows (over 30 so far!) and has proclaimed the best job he’s had was working for a moving company during college. When Matt is not globetrotting for work, he much prefers to spend time traveling with his wife and cheering on the Michigan Wolverines.
Don spearheads Fluent’s commercial growth initiatives, including international expansion and the further activation of its massive data assets across addressable channels.
An industry veteran, Don served as CEO of Seneca One, a specialty consumer finance company, after acting as President of Infogroup Targeting Solutions and in senior management positions at Merkle. As Merkle’s COO, he was part of the original management team that grew headcount from 40 employees to over 1,500, and revenue from $6 million to over $300 million. Don ran with the bulls in Pamplona, which was good preparation for running around with his six children, all of whom played Division 1 college sports. He enjoys adventure in all forms, especially if it is with his wife and family.
As the Head of People at Fluent, Katherine oversees all areas of human resources, including Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Diversity and Inclusion, and Employee Engagement.
Fluent’s resident Brit, Katherine attended University of Plymouth for her undergraduate degree and collected her masters in Personnel and Development from University of Westminster in London. She previously worked at Sprinklr as a Strategic HR Business Partner and Informa Plc. A self-professed explorer, Katherine is determined to visit all 50 states, though she enjoys experiencing all New York City has to offer on the weekend. She is also working on exploring her culinary skills, which we can only hope means she will bring cake into the office to share.
Matt oversees the Performance Media Group, responsible for building Fluent’s media brands. His team drives product development, user acquisition, monetization and reengagement strategies that produce scalable, engaging performance programs.
Born in Guilford, CT, Matt attended Gettysburg College. Before joining Fluent, he worked at Keypath Education then Clash Media, where he met Matt Conlin and Ryan Schulke at the inception of the company. Matt is always on the move, whether is he spotting the Big Five on safari or zooming around the office on a scooter shooting questions to his team; skills which were probably honed during the six months he spent in Brazil teaching math and soccer.
Sean spearheads product, data, and technology development at Fluent. The combined efforts of Sean’s teams enable customer engagement and provide actionable insights for Fluent’s advertisers and publishers.
A Philadelphia native and graduate of the University of Delaware, Sean’s office is adorned with Eagles paraphernalia to the chagrin of his New York coworkers. He previously worked at Sanky Digital and Clash Media, where he met Ryan Schulke and Matt Conlin during the inception of Fluent. A voracious audiobook listener, our EVP of Product and Technology is always ahead of the curve, having designed the first Fluent logo and created a Facebook profile the year it was founded – though he has since updated his profile picture.
Rob leads merger and acquisition activities, working with members of senior management to help shape the strategic direction of Fluent.
Originally from Woodstock, NY, after graduating with an MBA from SUNY Buffalo, Rob fled the winter chill for sunnier climes in Florida. He previously practiced as an accountant at PwC and led Q Interactive as President until the company joined Fluent in 2016. During his well-earned weekends and days off, Rob enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and three grown children. As a suffering Buffalo Bill’s fan, he can also be counted on to make hilarious sports analogies in Fluent meetings, which might possibly feed his love for fine wine and great scotch.
Dan handles all legal needs, overseeing risk management and compliance. He also works closely with the product and creative teams to ensure that proprietary products are legally compliant and in-line with industry best practices.
Hailing from the Main Line outside of Philadelphia, Dan attended the same high school as Kobe Bryant…though Kobe graduated just a few years after him. Dan earned his BBA from George Washington University, his law degree from University of Miami, and his LLM in tax law from NYU. Before joining Fluent, Dan previously worked for Snackable Media and Hanover Direct. Affectionately known as the Bulldog, Dan can be spotted biking to work from the Upper West Side all year round. In the winter, he wishes he could ski to work and during the summer, he can be found on Fire Island, sipping tequila with his wife and two children.
Andrea joined Fluent with a proven track record of delivering transformational business results, leveraging over 20 years of experience in big data, analytics, and digital advertising solutions. Prior to joining Fluent, Andrea served as Chief Revenue Officer at Inuvo, where she led sales, account management, publisher operations, and launched their AI driven digital media prospecting solution. Previously, Andrea served as Senior Vice President of Sales at Infogroup Targeting Solutions and in multiple senior level roles within Acxiom.
Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College. When she isn’t geeking out over data-led growth solutions with clients, Andrea lives in Perdido Key, FL. Along with her husband and family, she enjoys a coastal lifestyle, including boating, water sports, and fishing.
Ryan ties strategic objectives to financial forecasts, models, and budgets. He oversees the company’s accounting and commercial reporting and analysis departments.
Born in Australia but raised in Gainesville, FL, Ryan attended Tulane University where he played football for the Green Wave. He previously held positions at PwC and FTI Consulting before joining Fluent to run Finance and Accounting. Ryan lived in Argentina for six years and speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese, owns over 100 pairs of sneakers, and his two children are in the top five cutest kids in Brooklyn.
Kelly leads the marketing team through hands-on involvement steering product marketing, branding, and strategic communications to shape Fluent’s trajectory in the marketplace.
A graduate of Boston University, Kelly gained experience in the industry at Neustar and Nielsen while completing her MBA at Fordham University. An adventurer at heart, Kelly spent time teaching English in China and says her biggest regret is not being chosen for the Mickey Mouse Club – though we know she is perfect to lead the marketing charge here at Fluent. Kelly stays engaged with up-and-coming talent through mentorship and professional organizations, as well as making sure she keeps up with all things Bravo.
