High-Intent customer
What is a high-intent customer?
A high-intent customer is a consumer who has demonstrated through their behavior that they are actively ready to make a purchase or take a transactional action — through a recent search, a cart addition, a product page visit, or, most powerfully, a completed transaction in a related category. High-intent customers convert at significantly higher rates than broad-reach audiences and are the primary target of performance-oriented advertising.
Why the post-transaction moment creates the highest-intent audience
The highest-intent signal in the consumer journey is a completed transaction — not a search, not a page visit, but an actual purchase or sign-up. A consumer who has just bought running shoes is a high-intent customer for athletic nutrition; a consumer who just booked a flight is a high-intent customer for travel insurance or hotel rewards. Commerce media activates these intent signals at the moment they are created.
In the Fluent context
Fluent's entire platform is oriented around high-intent customers — consumers who have just completed a transaction and are, by definition, in an active commerce mindset. Advertisers on the Fluent network reach this audience at the highest-intent moment in the customer journey.
