Retail Media Network

What is a retail media network?

A retail media network (RMN) is the advertising infrastructure a retailer builds to sell ad placements to brand partners, powered by its own first-party shopper data. An RMN typically includes sponsored product placements, display advertising on the retailer's site and app, and — increasingly — offsite placements served using the retailer's data beyond its owned properties.

Retail media network vs. commerce media network

An RMN is operated by a single retailer and draws its value from that retailer's specific shopper base. A commerce media network (CMN) aggregates inventory and audience data across multiple publishers and verticals, giving brands broader reach and giving each network partner access to demand that extends well beyond their own ecosystem.
